Contentious issues, LTTE and the Columbia University, NY

Letter emailed to Mr. Lee Bollinger, the President of Columbia University on April 1, 2009

To: Mr. Lee Bollinger
President of Columbia University
New York

Dear Mr. Bollinger,

I would like to thank you for preventing operatives of the Tamil Tiger Terrorists from using your institution as a propaganda outlet as falsely stated in a note titled "The impact of international development on the crisis in Sri Lanka: various Tamil perspectives" on March 31, 2009.

It is well known among the Sri Lankan community that Visvanathan Rudrakumar, the so called 'Expert Panelist' is an associate of the world's most brutal terror group the LTTE or Tamil Tigers. I don't think that there is anything wrong with offering a platform to discuss contentious issues. But when every single platform offered out there has been used by LTTE elements like Rudrakumar to spread false information, mislead the public and commit fraud, how can one even think about offering anything to these agents of terror?

We are also concerned as to why CUPID allowed the session to focus only on the Tamil perspective on this matter. What about other ethnic groups almost wiped out by Tamil terrorists? Consider this: Tamils live and work in peace in ALL parts of Sri Lanka. They own over half of the businesses, run political parties and publish newspapers freely in Sri Lanka. On the other hand, only a Tamil can live in the North or North-East of the island. All other ethnic groups live in fear of death or were systematically murdered by LTTE Terrorists. Isn't that ethnic cleansing?

For more in-depth information about the global apparatus of the LTTE terror group and its influence on our institutions, I invite you to read this informative article from the Centre for Policing, Intelligence and Counter Terrorism with the heading 'Sri Lanka: The Fall of Kilinochchi' in the Asian Conflicts Reports, Issue 2, February 2009 at Asian Conflicts Reports

Thanking you once again for preventing this propaganda session by the LTTE, I earnestly hope that Columbia University will be vigilant in the future to prevent more such disturbing attempts to spread hate and violence in the guise of 'perspectives' by LTTE operatives.

Sincerely,
